About me
Born in Heidelberg, Germany, more than 40 years ago, I’ve lived in many different cities and countries.
I love travelling, so I feel very fortunate that my job these days also involves a lot of inter-continental travel. Most of my job-related trips take me to South-East-Asian countries. For me, this is a great way to meet people from different cultures and see as much of the world as possible.
The German poet Gottfried Keller wrote two lines in his poem Evening Song, which come close to summarizing my life-philosophy: “Trinkt, o Augen, was die Wimper hält, von dem goldenen Überfluss der Welt!” Unfortunately, the English translation does not convey the beauty of the original lines: “Drink, oh eyes, as much as your lashes can hold, of the golden opulence of the world!”
Hi. You mentioned in the WordPress Forums that you’d like to get rid of the Possibly Related Posts thing… if you go into your Dashboard, click on the Design tab, then on Extras you’ll find a little box. Just click on it and you’re done.
There should be an announcement coming soon about changes and upgrades to the system, though. I believe WordPress is giving the blogger more control over what links appear, or if they appear at all. If they do change it they’ll announce it on WordPress News at http://wordpress.com.

thanks Gabriel. I just hope this will not cut traffic to my blog because of the second part of this sentence: “Hide related links on this blog, which means this blog won’t show up on other’s blogs or get traffic that way”. Not really sure how they mean that…

Your traffic should remain the same. There’s a company named Sphere that generates the random links that now appear on our posts, by opting out all you’re doing is preventing those links from appearing on your site, and any potential links it might find from your site from appearing on other sites. If they can get it working properly I think the potential for finding a larger community is high enough that I’ll probably opt back in…

Hi Thorsten,
I swear to God, I didn’t use the same theme (Digg 3 Column) because I intended to mimic the format of your blog. It was just a coincidence.
Maybe the saying “great minds think alike” applies here haha.
Anyway, thanks for replying to my email. It’s nice to know that you’ve had a well-deserved vacation.
Regards,
Leo
